東京という都市を新陳代謝する有機体のような存在として捉え、人工物の表面や細部で起こっている現象にクローズアップしたシリーズ『entropix』を2008年に発表した。 その中に「Untitled (Melt 01~)」という作品群があるが、これは街に貼られたポスターなどの印刷物が太陽の光や雨などによって変化した状態を撮影したものである。
また、2009年に発表した『Rainbow Form』シリーズは虹のグラフィックが使われた広告ポスターの一部分にクローズアップした作品で、表面の傷や汚れ、結露した水滴や影をそのまま撮影し、路上で発生した虹の現象としてとらえた作品である。
これらの作品は、東京を歩きながら発見した都市の「有機的な現象」であるが、その「現象」の背後には、 太陽の光や雨や風といった自然の力だけではなく、僕が立ち会わなかった出来事や知らない誰かの意識的・無意識的な行動の力が関係している。
季節や天気とともに変化する環境の中で、都市と身体、無機物と有機物、意識と無意識、自分自身と誰かの存在は、相互に密接に反応し合い、有機体のように変化し続けるこの世界を形づくっている。
そのことを改めて自覚した時、自分が撮ってきた抽象的な写真の成り立ちについて考えた。
『Melteing Rainbows』は抽象的な写真についての検証であり、１枚の写真に可能性として常に残り続ける「存在したかもしれない瞬間」や「無限に連続していく瞬間」といった時間についての写真であり、そしてイメージ≠写真の成り立ちについて考察した作品である。
現在『Melting Rainbows』シリーズには111枚の写真がある。
I have presented a series "entropix" in 2008, which are the closed-up pictures of subtle phenomenon on the surface of artificial objects in the city. In this series there were works entitled "Untitled (Melt 01...)", which were the photographed image of parts of outdoor posters with the ink melted by sunlight and rain.
After "entropix", I have also presented another series of the closed-up images of advertising poster with a rainbow image, entitled "Rainbow Form" in 2009. This series captured the surface of them including scars, dusts, dew drops and shadows, just as that it was a natural "rainbow" on the street.
Through these series, I have been walking around Tokyo and taking picture of "organic phenomenon in the city".
After those series, I have came to focus on the nature of my abstract photography. Sunlight, rain, wind and any kind of nature power is affecting on the object I have taken picture of. But it also hold the presence of other people and there should be thousands of moments I did not witness and thousands of actions by other people I do not even know.
City and human body, organisms and an organic materials, awareness and unconsciousness, the existence of myself and the other; In such an environment changing with the transition of seasons and the weather, closely reacting each other, those opponents always interact with each other to form this ever-changing organic universe.
"Melting rainbows" is a study of abstract photography based on my viewpoint. And it is on the millions of possibilities a photograph would hold such as "the moments which would have existed", "the infinitely continuous moment". It is also about the contradiction between what we see in an image and the structure behind it.
The series "Melting Rainbows" has 111 pictures now.

『Starry』 は新築マンションのエントランスに設置する作品を制作するコミッションワークから生まれたシリーズ。
このコミッションワークではマンションが建つ場所性や、日々居住者が行き交うエントランスに作品を設置するということの意味や効果について考えた。付近には100年近い歴史を持つ天文台があるが、マンションが建つ駅の周辺では夜空に星を見る機会が減っている。そこで、居住者が星の事や天文台のことを想像したり、家族のコミュニケーションを誘発する装置としての写真を制作した。
この『Starry』 シリーズ は、エントランスに設置した高さ1.2mｘ幅2.4mの作品を12分割したものである。
星空のように見える写真に違和感を感じながら星のことを想像してしまう、そのような人間の知覚や想像力への問いかけとしての作品であり、写真と知覚の関係性や、体験する写真の可能性について考えた作品である。
The work "Starry" was initially made as a commissioned project for the entrance of a residential building in Tokyo, in 2009.
In the process of making this work I was thinking about the locality of the place, and the meaning and the effect of placing an artwork at the entrance hall, where the residents pass by everyday.
Despite the fact that the town has the oldest astronomical observatory since 1920, there is less opportunity for the citizens to look up the stars at night. This story gave me an idea to create a photograph, which functions as a device for the residents to start a conversation with their families, and imagine stars and the observatory.
The 1.2x2.4m large original image consists of 12 individual images. "Starry" is a question about human nature, which associates and recalls the real stars when someone sees a starry image, and it is my study on the relationship between photography and man's perception, and the photography as an experience.

『DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2009』の中で開催された企画展『TOKYO PLAY GROUND』のために撮り下ろした作品。
「東京のスポーツスポットをそれぞれの作家の視点で撮る」という企画展テーマのもと、テニスの壁打ち板に残された様々な球技の打痕を撮影した。
This series is a work that is taken for special exhibition “Tokyo Play Ground” held in “DesignTide Tokyo 2009”.
This theme of the exhibition was “Tokyo Sports Spot by Photographers Point of View”, so I took the pictures of the vestige of various ball games left on wall of tennis court in a park.

『Rainbow Form』は2009年に制作したシリーズで、都市に散在する虹のイメージを、実際に起こった虹のように、その場で発生している現象としてとらえたものである。
これらの写真は虹のイメージが使われた広告ポスターの一部分をクローズアップして撮影しており、非常に平面的に見えるが、虹のイメージを構成する印刷の網点、紙の表面の汚れ、結露した水滴、印刷物の手前にある（しかし透けていて見えない）透明な板の傷や付着物とそれらが落とした影など、実際には複数のレイヤーが存在しており、そのすべてをその場で発生した虹の現象として写真化している。
このシリーズは『entropix』からさらに、光や現象に関すること、見るということ、イメージと言葉の関係（この場合は
「虹を見た」という言葉）など、写真そのものを検証するようなアプローチへと発展したシリーズである。また、水滴や痕跡、影などが生々しい感覚を呼び起こしたり、現実の虹ではないにもかかわらず虹を想起してしまうことなど、写真に対する知覚についてのアプローチでもある。
現在『Rainbow Form』シリーズは24枚ある。
In the series "Rainbow Form" of 24 pictures in 2009, one particular image of an artificial rainbow (a part of an advertising poster) which is scattered around Tokyo is captured as a single phenomenon which equals the actual natural rainbow.
This image is composed with more layers; printing dots that compose a image of rainbow, surface condensation, scratch and adheres on the invisible plastic board which exists in the front of the paper, and the shadows on the paper caused by those.
This is a series that developed from 'entropix' into the study of photography itself, light, seeing, the connection between an image and a word (In this case, the phrase "I have seen a rainbow. ") and in other words, study of human’s perception to photography.
The series "Rainbow Form" has 24 pictures now.

「entropix」は、東京の街を新陳代謝する有機体のように捉え、人工物の表面やそこで起きる微細な現象を撮影したシリーズ。
彩度の高いイメージを得るために、晴天の日中にマクロレンズで撮影している。
「entropix」とは、”Entropy”と”Picture”、”Pixel”の造語。
建物を解体し、更地を区画整理し、また新たに建設し、リフォームという延命措置を施しながら変化し続ける「東京」という街は、生き続けるために新陳代謝を繰り返す生物のようであり、都市と自然が渾然一体となった有機体のようである。都市を形成する人工物やマテリアルも生物と同じようにエントロピーの増大からは逃れられず、分子レベルでは常に変化しているが、そのようにして新陳代謝する都市の断片をクローズアップして切り撮り、有機的なアブストラクト写真と呼べるようなイメージを製作している。
写真集『entropix』は2008年にartbeat publishersより出版された。
このシリーズは現在も継続している。
I regard the city "Tokyo" that changes at high speed as a living thing dynamically renewed.
This is a series of my photography of the surface of the artificial material and a subtle phenomenon by using macro lens
in the daytime of a sunny day in Tokyo.
'entropix' is coinage of "entropy", "picture" and "pixel".
Various artificial materials that form a city cannot escape from the increase of entropy just like the living thing and it is
always changing at a molecular level.
Sometimes the dirty rust of the walls looks like human's cell to me, when they are vivid and animatedly in sunlight.
I walk in Tokyo, cutting out the fragments of the metabolizing city, and I make the image that can be described as
"the organic abstract photography".
Photography collection 'entropix' was published from artbeat publishers in September 2008.
This series is continuing.
