Statement Melting Rainbows

Just like there are invisible layers in the atmosphere, there must be invisible layers in the sea. The sea which covers 70% of the surface of the earth. Any phenomenon on the sea will go around the world with the help of the wind and the tide. On the other hand, in the digital data recorded from the outer space has their own layers of time. Things that cannot be rewinded, a view just before the accident. The change which expands on the sea like waves.
In this works, I try to visualize the texture of multi-layered time by combining the plural data of the same location in the different time as multi-exposure of photography. Each work shows: Nares Strait with gigantic floating glaciers separated from Petermann Glacier in Greenland (August 2010), the ocean area of the oil spill in Gulf of Mexico (April 2010) and the Chukchi Sea which is a part of the Arctic Ocean, between the Eurasian and the North American continents.

大気に見えない層があるように、海にも見えない層がある。地球の70%の表面を満たす海、そこで起きた事象は風や海流に乗って世界を巡る。宇宙から撮影されたデータには、時間の層がある。不可逆的な事象、事前の光景、波のように広がっていく変化。
この作品では、同じ場所で撮影された過去のデータを多重露光のように重ね合わせ、重層化した時間のテクスチャーを可視化することを試みた。作品はそれぞれ、2010年8月にグリーンランドのペテアマン氷河から分離した巨大氷河が漂うネアズ海峡、2010年4月にメキシコ湾で発生した原油流出事故海域、北極海の一部でユーラシア大陸と北アメリカ大陸の間に広がるチュクチ海である。
